Susan L. Bennett, PhD, CEDS

As a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS) located in Denver and Boulder, Colorado, I provide compassionate and non-judgmental support to adults struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder, and rumination.  I also enjoy helping individuals who are experiencing primary or co-occurring anxiety, phobias, panic, OCD, depression and trauma. Additionally, using a biopsychosocial model of care, I provide therapy to individuals who have been diagnosed with cancer or other life-changing physical illnesses. I enjoy working with athletes of all skill levels and love providing clinical support to parents and caregivers of those experiencing illness, including eating disorders.

I have found through diverse clinical experience that there isn’t one treatment that fits all individuals. As my clients share their challenges, we collaboratively develop a treatment plan, identify goals and values, and discuss the most effective evidence-based treatment to facilitate change. My therapeutic foundation is in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), group therapy, and Interpersonal and Existential psychotherapy. Whether you come to therapy motivated to change or need help finding motivation, I will focus on the quality of our therapeutic relationship so I can best help you reach your goals for treatment.

While my Denver eating disorder private practice is located in the Gaudiani Clinic, you do not need to also be seeing Dr. Gaudiani in order to receive psychotherapy care from me. I look forward to talking with you!
